It was the end of an era for Luton Hoo today as treasures from the Bedfordshire mansion went on sale in Cambridge.
The objects at auction this morning were some of the most luxurious ever made in the Edwardian era, and they caught many a collector's eye.

Furniture from the Luton Hoo country estate in Bedfordshire is on sale at auction today.
The most popular lots so far have been two large, ceramic, blue and white bowls which sold for £36,000.
The sale is ongoing and will continue this afternoon.
The Hoo estate has been the backdrop for a number of films and dramas over the years including Richard Curtis' Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Auctioneers Cheffins have described the sale as "the end of an era".
