Two lanes blocked on M11 in Essex after crash

Two cars have crashed on the M11 northbound in Essex.

Emergency services have been called to Junction 8 (A120/Stansted) and Junction 9 (A11).

Two lanes are blocked and Highways England say there's around five miles queuing traffic.

There are long delays on the M11 in Essex tonight after a lorry full of glue overturned closing the road in both directions between J7 A414 / B1393 (Harlow) and J8 A120 / B1256 (Stansted Airport / Bishops Stortford), with congestion on Northbound to J6 M25.

Essex Police say that people near the scene must stay in their vehicles as the fumes are hazardous to health. The road is likely to remain closed late into tonight


Huhne & Pryce to be sentenced over M11 speeding points

The former Energy Secretary Chris Huhne and his ex-wife Vicky Pryce are due to be sentenced today after she took speeding point on his behalf.

Huhne was served with a notice that he had been caught speeding on the M11 in Essex in 2003.

Huhne had already pleaded guilty to the offence, but Pryce denied the charge, arguing in court that she took the points under 'marital coercion'.

Her initial trial collapsed after the jury failed to understand the basic facts of the case and it's own role in proceedings.

Pryce was found guilty in the subsequent trial at Southwark Crown Court last week,
