Cambridge historian and TV presenter Mary Beard has won a prestigious award in Spain for her work on ancient Rome and Greece.
The Classic Professor has won the Princes of Asturias prize for social sciences.
The prize, one of 8 handed out each year, comes with a cheque for £38,000.
Cambridge Academic Professor Mary Beard said she had no choice but to report death threats she received on Twitter to the Police.
Speaking to ITV News she said: "Intellectually you know that 99.9 per cent of these threats are just threats, they aren't actually outside your door.
"But the problem is when you get bed at night you start to think about the 0.01 per cent where it might be true."
