E-fit released in connection with Suffolk train station rape

British Transport Police has released an e-fit image of a man they want to identify in connection with a rape in Suffolk.

The attack happened just before 9.50pm on Tuesday 19th July while a woman was waiting at Melton station, for a train heading to Ipswich.

Police have carried out numerous enquiries and looked at CCTV pictures of the area.

"We continue to explore every avenue possible to make sure this offender is identified and brought to justice. The victim has been left shaken by this assault and we have specialist officers supporting her throughout this ordeal. We know Melton and the surrounding area is a close community and we hope someone may recognise this man and will get in touch.”

A 35-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested and bailed in connection with this incident.
