Former F1 World Champion Damon Hill said it was no surprise that Michael Schumacher has decided to retire from Formula One.
Hill, at Silverstone today to test out the UK's fastest electric car, said Schumacher could look back on his career with enormous pride.
Michael Schumacher will retire from Formula One for the second time at the end of the season.
The seven-time World Champion will leave the Northamptonshire-based Mercedes Petronas team at the end of the season.
Schumacher's seat at Mercedes will be taken by McLaren's Lewis Hamilton in 2013.
He said: "I have decided to retire at the end of the season. I still feel I am capable of competing against the best but the time sometimes comes to say goodbye and this time it might be forever."
