Nobel Prize for Cambridge scientist
A Cambridge scientist has won this year's Nobel Prize for medicine. John Gurdon, who founded the Gurdon Institute, shares the prize with Shinya Yamanaka of Japan.
The pair found that specialised cells in the body can be reprogrammed into blank slates that can become any kind of cell.
The prize committee in Stockholm said they had "revolutionised our understanding of how cells and organisms develop".
