College wins games-design recognition

The BA Games Art and Design degree course at Norwich University College of the Arts has been highlighted by the games industry as one of the best courses in its field.

The course has received formal accreditation from Creative Skillset, the industry body that supports skills and training for people in the creative industries, becoming only the fourth accredited BA course in the country and the first offered by a specialist institution.

A graduate of Norwich University College of the Arts has won a top award for an animated film.

Alex Searle, who's 21 and from Sprowston, picked up the Creative Film Making prize at the National Association for Higher Education and Moving Image Student Awards.

His film, called 'What is Animation?', helped get him a first class degree at NUCA.

A student at Norwich University College of the Arts has reached the shortlist of the national Young Masters competition.

Georgia Dodson, from Attleborough, is preparing to graduate in the college's MA Fine Art course.

She's been selected with 26 other emerging artists around the UK whose work combines innovation with awareness of the Old Masters of the past.

Her paintings can be seen alongside the work of other graduating students at the NUCA MA Degree Show on Friday 31 August until 4th September.
