Man threatened in knife-point robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robed at knifepoint in Ipswich.

The incident happened in Alan Road at approximately 1.30am on Friday.

The victim was approached from behind by three men. One of the men asked to use the victim's mobile phone and put a knife to his neck.

Another male assaulted the victim and searched his pockets, taking an amount of money. All three men then walk off towards Foxhall Road.

The victim, a 22-year-old man - sustained small cuts under his chin.

All three men were described as white and appeared to be of Eastern European origin.

Anyone with information about the incident or recognises any of the individuals described is asked to call Ipswich Priority Crime Team on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Machete robber gets prison term

A 27-year-old man has been jailed for nearly six years for robbing a convenience store in Milton Keynes armed with a machete.

Mark McDermot, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to armed robbery at Aylesbury Crown Court.

McDermot threatened a shop assistant at Hodge Lea Food and Wine in Brookside and stole cash from the till.


Two charged after security guard robbery

Two men have been charged with robbery after a cash box was taken from a security guard in Ipswich.

The incident took place at the town's Asda store in Stoke Park Drive on Saturday. The female security guard was knocked over but was unhurt.

Nico Hurd, 21 and of Worsdell Close in Ipswich, and Jordan Bernard, 18, of Neath Drive in Ipswich, have both been charged they wil appear before South East Suffolk Magistrates Court this morning.

Man arrested in connection with bank raid

A 54-year-old man from Norwich is being questioned in connection with a raid on a bank in the city.

Armed police were called to the Royal Bank of Scotland in Queen Street yesterday afternoon after reports that a man had demanded money from a cashier.

The man fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash heading towards London Street.

A police helicopter was used to assist officers on the ground in the search for the man. It's still unclear whether a firearm was used during the incident but no-one was injured.


Men charged after Suffolk robbery

Three men have been charged following a robbery in Mildenhall which left a 76-year-old woman with a fractured arm, head and facial injuries.

It happened on the evening of Saturday 10 March; the woman was walking along Kingsway in the town when her handbag was grabbed.

Derek McCray, a 22-year-old from Heath Road, Brandon has been charged with robbery.

Bjorn Grahn, a 20-year-olf of Riverside Close, Mildenhall has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Sean Woods, a 21-year-old of Girton Close, Midlenhall has been charged with robbery.

Woods has also been charged with two counts of theft from person relating to separate incidents in Mildenhall on the 18 and 23 February 2012.
