Cambridgeshire singer Sam Smith has released a short clip of the hotly anticipated video to his Bond theme tune.

He tweeted it to fans this afternoon.

'Writing's on the Wall' received a mixed response from critics when it was released on Friday, but it looks set to be the first Bond song to top the UK charts.

It'll feature on the opening credits of 'Spectre', which opens in cinemas in October.


Sam Smith in US news photobomb

Cambridgeshire singer Sam Smith has made a guest appearance on the news in America - and nobody recognised him.

7News were interviewing two tourists in Denver when the star cheekily photobombed them - but neither the presenters or the tourists appeared to recognise him.

The singer later joked about it on social media, tagging the footage 'photobombing the news' Hopefully he will have better luck getting recognised on his US tour.

It has been reported that Sam Smith could be about to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Louis Armstrong, Shirley Bassey and Madonna.

The Cambridgeshire singier star is apparently in line to record the theme song for the new James Bond movie Spectre.

The movie stars Daniel Craig, Django Unchained star Christoph Waltz and Monica Bellucci.

The Sunday times says the 23 year old was commissioned directly by director Sam Mendes.

Singer Sam Smith, from Great Chishill in Cambridgeshire, has made history by matching the chart success of The Beatles. His album In The Lonely Hour has notched up 50 consecutive weeks in the top 5. The only other debut album to do that was the Fab Four's Please Please Me in 1963/64.
