The farm was found at an address in South Ockenden Credit: Essex Police

Essex Police uncovered a cannabis farm this morning after searching an address in Essex.

A total of 400 plants were seized in South Ockenden, they were being grown using a complex set up of lamps and fans.

Officers believe the electrical equipment would have taken thousands of pounds to buy and run.

Investigations are ongoing, although police hope to make arrests soon.

“There is obvious concern about the negative effects that the use, supply and production of illegal drugs can have on our communities. These warrants were carried out as part of our ongoing work to disrupt the sale of illegal drugs and the criminality that goes with it."
