The 1st Royal Anglians are to receive their operation medals after a six month tour of Afghanistan.
Six hundred soldiers from 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment will receive their Afghanistan Operational Service Medals today. It's the first event in a series marking the end of a six month deployment as part of Task Force Helmand.
The Battalion lost one soldier on the tour, Cpl Alex Guy, who was killed in action on the 15th June. He was born in Norwich and grew up in Cambridgeshire. He was described as a devoted husband and a friend to many within the Regiment.
