A man has been jailed for six years over a siege which closed one of London's busiest streets.

Michael Green, 48, of Archer Road in Stevenage, admitted false imprisonment, making a bomb hoax and criminal damage, a court official at London's Blackfriars Crown Court said.

Tottenham Court Road was closed for hours on April 27 after Green stormed into an office, making threats.

He threw office equipment out of the window onto the street during the siege.

After negotiators and armed police were called, he emerged stripped to the waist and was led away by officers.
