Investigation continues after coach crash

Investigations are continuing after a coach and a lorry crashed on the A1 in Cambridgeshire.

It happened on the northbound carriageway near Buckden at about 5.30 yesterday morning.

Ambulance, police and fire crews were called to the scene. Thirteen people were taken to hospital - two of them with serious injuries. All were released yesterday.

The remaining passengers went to a temporary rest centre before continuing their journey from London to Newcastle. The northbound carriageway was blocked for most of the day.



Bus passenger dies after collision

A 90-year-old man has died after being seriously injured in a collision in Chelmsford.

He was a passenger on a bus which was involved in a collision with a cyclist at North Avenue last Saturday morning, the 3rd of August.

The man, who was from Chelmsford, suffered serious head injuries and was airlifted to Queens Hospital in Romford. He died on Friday.

An 18-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous cycling. He has been bailed until the 8th of November pending further enquiries.

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses.
