A14 re-opens eight hours after lorry overturns

The A14 northbound in Cambridgeshire has re-opened eight hours after a lorry overturned at just before 10am on Tuesday.

A lorry carrying clothing overturned and the northbound A14 spur between junction 23 at the Spittals interchange near Huntington and the A1(M)/A14 was closed.

The Highways Agency said it worked hard with Cambridgeshire Police to have the road cleared as quickly as possible but reported there are still delays in the area.

The A14 near Huntingdon is due to re-open at 6pm after it was closed because a lorry overturned.

The Highways Agency has been warning of long delays on the road when it closed the northbound spur between the A14 and the A1(M).

The road has been closed since 10am and traffic diverted further along the A14 and then along the A1.

A14 at Godmanchester now clear

Cambridgeshire Police say the A14 eastbound at Godmanchester is now clear following a three vehicle crash.

Diversions to avoid A14 closure but long delays expected

The A14 northbound is closed between the Spittals interchange near Huntingdon and the A1(M) near Alconbury after a lorry overturned.

Traffic is being diverted along the A14 westbound and then north onto the A1 at junction 22.

Police are warning the road is likely to be closed for several hours and says that long delays are likely.

A14 to be closed for six hours following crash

The Highways Agency is warning drivers of significant delays on the A14 northbound in Cambridgeshire after a lorry overturned. Police say the road could be closed until the evening rush hour.

A lorry carrying clothing overturned just before 10am and the northbound A14 spur between junction 23 and the A1(M)/A14 has been closed. Emergency services are currently at the scene but there are no injuries.

Traffic is being diverted along the A14 towards junction 22, followed by the A1 northbound to re-join the A1(M).

ROADS: LONG DELAYS ON A14 NEAR HUNTINGDON

The A14 eastbound is blocked in Cambrideshire with queueing traffic due to accident. Three vehicles involved near J24 A1198 (Godmanchester) heading towards Cambridge.

The A14 spur westbound is also closed due to overturned lorry between J23 A141 (Spittals Interchange, Huntingdon) and A1(M) J14 Alconbury.

There is a diversion via the A1 at Brampton.
