The family of a woman from Norfolk savagely attacked in Tenerife, today came face to face with her alleged killer.
60-year-old Jennifer Mills-Westley had retired to the holiday island when she was the victim of a gruesome crime.
Today (Monday) her two daughters watched in horror as close circuit television footage of the attack was shown in court.
The man accused of murdering her told the jury he'd been haunted by voices - and sometimes they told him to kill.
A taxi driver accused of murdering Rachel Manning whose body was dumped on an exclusive golf course is not going to give evidence. Shahidul Ahmed denies killing 19 year old Rachel, who became separated from her boyfriend after a 1970s fancy dress party.
She was strangled and her body left in thick undergrowth by her killer in the grounds of Woburn Golf Club in Bucks. Today Ahmed's barrister Michael Borrelli QC told the jury of 7 women and 5 men: "We do not seek to call the defendant.
We will call further evidence."
The case was adjourned by Mr Justice Wilkie and the defence case will resume tomorrow.
