Endangered water voles have been given a helping hand by volunteers who have carried out a tidy up at Bar Hill nature reserve in Cambridgeshire.

The team has been cutting back hawthorn and brambles ahead of work planned for later in the year which will see ditches dug and banks formed to make the area a haven for the animals.
