Police have revealed more details of a fatal crash in Norfolk in which an elderly couple died. It happened on the A47 at Wendling near Dereham on Monday afternoon. A grey Vauxhall Astra heading towards Norwich collided with a silver VW Polo travelling in the opposite direction.
The 76 year old female passenger of the Astra died at the scene, while the driver, a 77 year old man, died later in hospital. It's thought they come from the Leicester area.
The driver of the Polo, a 69 year old woman thought to be from the Norwich area, remains seriously ill in hospital with broken legs, right arm, and pelvis.
The police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly couple, both in their eighties, died in a car crash on the A47 at Wendling near Dereham in Norfolk. It happened yesterday afternoon when two vehicles collided head on.
An air ambulance was called to the scene but the female passenger in one of the vehicles died before she could be taken to hospital. The driver of that car died later in hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her sixties, was also badly hurt.
