Firefighters remained at Tilbury power station over night following following yesterday's blaze.
The operation to remove the wood chips that caught fire is under way. It is expected to take up to two days.
At its height more than a hundred and twenty fire fighters were at the scene.
Electricity supplies were not affected. The cause of the fire isn't yet known.
