MP calls for taxis to be made safer

Bedford MP Richard Fuller has called on the Government to take action to make taxis and private hire vehicles safer for passengers and drivers.

In a special Westminster debate he said drivers regularly have to deal with passengers who are drunk or have taken drugs and often face being attacked.

The Conservative MP says he raised the issue in Parliament because of the number of attacks on drivers in his Bedford constituency.
