O'Sullivan ends Carter's World Champion bid

Essex snooker player Ali Carter's bid to become World Champion has once again been ended by Ronnie O'Sullivan in the final in Sheffield.

Carter, who is from Tiptree near Colchester, lost to O'Sullivan when they met in the final in 2008. Yesterday he was unable to stop O'Sullivan from stretching his overnight lead from three frames to five in the first session of the day, before eventually losing 18-11 at the Crucible.
