"Business as usual" at Stansted despite strikes

Passengers flying out of Stansted today are being told that it's business as usual despite industrial action by baggage handlers.

Members of the Unite and GMB unions stopped work at five-thirty this morning in a dispute over working practices. They're employed by Swissport.

Senior managers say contingency plans have been put in place to allow all hold baggage to be checked-in. Swissport handles flights for Ryanair, Thomas Cook, Thomson, AtlasJet and BelleAir.
