This year's Suffolk Show has been cancelled because of the bad weather.

The two-day event has been cut short following safety advice - winds today are expected to reach 60mph at Trinity Park in Ipswich where the event is taking place.

Christopher Bushby, executive director, said:

“The reason we have decided to shut the show today is because we have been advised of a severe weather warning, with Force 9 winds predicted.

“This has not been an easy decision for us to reach, but it has been taken after careful consideration because we are not willing to take the risk with people’s lives.”

“We will be offering refunds to those who have bought tickets in advance."
