Fish rescued from Essex river

Chemicals from a farm trailer spilled into Topplesfield Brook, Halstead, on June 13.

Two teams from the Environment Agency were sent out this morning to continue rescuing fish from the River Colne.

They are also monitoring the river system for signs of further environmental damage.

The farm trailer overturned above the Topplesfield Brook, spilling around 5,000 litres of pesticide directly into it.
