Police warning over cash theft device
Residents in Lakenheath are being urged to take care when using cash machines after a theft device was found on a machine in the town.
The grey plastic strip was found covering the cash dispensing slot of the machine in the High Street on Tuesday. A similar device was found yesterday.
The device works by rapping cash behind it, allowing the thief to collect the money later. Police are only aware of one victim who lost a small amount of cash.
Police would like to speak to a man in connection to the incident the occurred in Lakenheath on Wednesday 1 August.
He is described as late 20s to early 30s, around 5’ 11”, with short dark hair. He was wearing dark blue jeans, a grey collard shirt and a black zip-up jacket.
