Drugs found in load of flowers at Harwich docks

Cannabis worth £337,000 has been seized at the Port of Harwich Credit: Border Force

Cannabis worth more than a quarter of a million pounds has been seized at the Port of Harwich.

The drugs were discovered by Border Force officers in the trailer of a lorry that arrived on a ferry from the Hook of Holland on Saturday.

The drugs had been concealed in 14 white boxes hidden among a load of flowers. In total, 117kg of cannabis was found.

A 62-year-old man from Holland has been arrested on suspicion of illegally importing a Class B drug.
