An elephant has been showing off her artistic skills at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire. 14-year-old Asian elephant Karishma uses a paintbrush held in her trunk to decorate a wooden elephant-shaped panel.
Karishma's works of art will be on display at the zoo during Elephant Appreciation Weekend on September 22 and 23, alongside nine wooden elephants which have been created and decorated by students from Central Bedfordshire College to represent each of Whipsnade's nine elephants.
Elephant keeper Elizabeth Callaghan says it demonstrates just how dexterous elephant's trunks really are.
