The Cromer & District Foodbank has been awarded a £5,000 grant from the North Norfolk Big Society Fund. The money will be used to meet operational costs, pay for overheads and support volunteers.
The Foodbank’s warehouse and distribution centre are in the hall of the Methodist church in Cromer.
A second distribution centre will open in St Joseph’s RC church hall in Sheringham on 28 November.
Further distribution points are planned for Aylsham, Holt and North Walsham, and Foodbank volunteers will deliver emergency food supplies to the homes of rural clients with transport difficulties.
