Man who died in car park had "previous contact" with police

Norfolk Police has confirmed that it had "previous contact" with a man who died in a firearms incident in Norfolk at the weekend.

The 60-year-old man died in a hotel car park in Titchwell near King's Lynn at about 1.50pm on Sunday 11 November. Paramedics arrived to find the man with head injuries in the grounds of the Briarfields Hotel.

Police had been called a short while earlier over concerns for his safety. They are not looking for anybody else in connection with the man's death.

Norfolk Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission "due to previous police contact".
