The number of people unemployed in the East of England is still rising and going against the national downward trend.
The latest figure is 212,000 people out of work in the region in the three months to September 2012. That represents an increase of 8,000 on the previous quarter.
In contrast, unemployment is falling in the East Midlands, which includes Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire. In that region it stands at 178,000, down 15,000 on the previous three months.
