Not guilty plea in trial of elderly woman left on bus

A woman has pleaded not guilty to neglect after an elderly woman was left on a minibus in Luton overnight.

Susan McLaughlin denied neglect, contrary to Section 4 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, at Luton Crown Court today.

The 43-year-old was arrested and charged after the incident in May was reported to Bedfordshire Police, a force spokeswoman said.

McLaughlin, of Brunel Road, Luton, will face trial at Luton Crown Court next year.
