Staff at stricken electricals chain Comet have been dealt a pre-Christmas blow after administrators announced a further 125 stores will close along with a distribution centre in Essex.
Deloitte also plans to close the company's distribution centre in Harlow this Friday and will cut back office functions at Rickmansworth, Hull and Clevedon.
Deloitte said it would only keep the remaining 70 stores open until all remaining stock was sold.
Harlow Council is holding redundancy advice sessions on Monday for people affected by job losses in the Comet shop and distribution centre.
