Police hunt Bedford attacker

Police hunting an attacker who left a man with permanent damage to his shoulder after repeatedly kicking and punching him on Wednesday.

The man, 46, was walking alone to his home in Warwick Avenue, Bedford, at about 10pm when a man approached him and attempted to punch him.

There was a chase before the attack happened in the doorway of the Bethany House hotel. The attacker then ran off, possibly in the direction of Shakespeare Road. The victim needed hospital treatment for a deep cut to the head and a badly-fractured shoulder.

Bedfordshire Police have released a description of the attacker and are appealing for people with information to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
