As winter draws in, a new alert service to keep parents in Norfolk informed about school closures is gaining momentum.
Norfolk County Council's school closure notification service will be running to inform people quickly and accessibly of any disruptions at their school this winter.
Parents, teachers and school children can subscribe to receive texts or e-mails when their school is closed, because of snow or any other reason, and be given news on closure decisions as soon as they happen.
So far a total of 506 people have subscribed to receive notifications for 104 different schools, with 348 signed up to be contacted via e-mail and 158 through text messages*.
