Airport bosses quizzed by MPs

The managing directors of Stansted and Luton airports have been giving evidence to MPs investigating airport expansion in the south of England.

Members of the Commons Transport Committee were told that Stansted is currently half full while Luton needed more peak-time capacity. The Managing Director of Gatwick told MPs that plans for an island airport in the Thames estuary wouldn't be a deliverable solution.
