Areas of Luton and Norwich are to benefit from £1 million each from the Big Lottery Fund.
Residents in Farley Hill in Luton and Catton Grove in Norwich will be handed the decision on how to spend their £1 million.
The money can be used on anything from tackling anti-social behaviour, to creating new community facilities or providing more activities for young people.
The programme is the Lottery's largest community-led regeneration project, with 150 areas of the UK set to benefit.
