Publicans from our region joined more campaigners in London today calling for reforms to the controversial beer tax escalator.

It means duty increases every year by two percent above inflation.

According to the Campaign for Real Ale, around 18 pubs in the UK are closing every week.

The Campaign for Real Ale, has organised the biggest campaigning event in its 40 year history as over 1,200 of its members - as well as other members of the beer & pub industry - descend upon Parliament, calling for an end to the beer duty escalator.
