No upgrade for Ambulance Service

No foundation status for the East of England Ambulance service Credit: PA

The East of England Ambulance service is not going to be upgraded to NHS foundation status for at least a year because of poor response times.

The health regulator Monitor says the service had failed to meet its 19-minute target for ambulances to arrive on call-outs and didn't have a plan robust enough to deal with the issue. Becoming an NHS foundation trust would give the ambulance service greater freedom.
