Successful launch for Stevenage built satellite
A multi million pound military satellite designed and built in Hertfordshire has been successfully launched in South America.
Skynet 5 is a high-tech communication satellite manufactured by Astrium in Stevenage. It took off from a French based launch-pad in French Guiana.
It will orbit the earth at speeds of more than six thousand miles an hour.
