Police appeal following burglary

Police are appealing for information following a burglary in Essex. It happened shortly after 2.30pm on New Year's Eve in Harlow. The thieves forced open the front door of a house on Pear Tree Mead and stole cash and jewellery worth a four-figure sum. They are described as white and of slim build.

We’re looking to identify three boys who had been acting suspiciously in the area at the time and who could either be key witnesses or suspects for this burglary.

– DC Kirsty Swan, Investigating Officer

One is described as around 5ft 10ins tall with dark hair in a tidy style, very short at the sides, longer on top and brushed back. Thought to be in his late teens, he was wearing a black body-warmer and light-blue trousers turned up at the bottom. He had been seen knocking on a door on the road.

The second boy is approximately 5ft 6ins tall, has mousy brown or ginger hair, was wearing a light top and is aged in his early teens. The third boy is approximately 5ft 11ins tall and was wearing a grey hoodie. A forensic examination was carried out, with house-to-house enquiries also completed.
