Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident in Little Cornard, near Sudbury where a man was injured with air rifle pellets.
The incident happened at approximately 7pm last night in Chapel Lane.
A 41-year-old man opened his door to let his dog out when he heard several shot noises and was hit by pellets to his hand, head and neck.
The man went back into his house and heard a car drive off. He was treated at Colchester Hospital where he received treatment for minor injuries.
Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area of Chapel Lane, Little Cornard and noticed any suspicious activity or saw a car leaving the area at around 7pm last night, Friday 4 January.
