Police renew appeal over fatal road accident

Police have renewed an appeal for information over a fatal road collision on Christmas Eve on the A14 at Sproughton.

The incident happened at around 10:20pm 24 December when around six horses were seen loose on the road. Four vehicles were involved in a collision with the horses.

Thomas Allen, 23, from Soham was taken to Ipswich Hospital with life threatening injuries. He died on Christmas Day.

Three horses also died as a result of the collision.

A 26-year-old Ipswich man arrested on suspicion of causing danger to road users has been bailed pending further enquiries.
