A14 fatal collision - driver arrested

A 20 year old man from Bury St Edmunds has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a fatal collision on the A14 on 24th January. The incident happened at 8.55pm along the eastbound carriage of the A14 at Bury St Edmunds.

A silver BMW and a red Ford Fiesta were seen travelling along the road. The BMW left the carriageway and collided with a tree. The 19 year old man driving the BMW died at the scene. He was from Brandon area.

His passenger, a 16 year old boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. Police are appealing for information. The 20 year old driver of the ford fiesta has been bailed pending further enquiries.
