Oldest menswear shop to close

Tissimans menswear shop in Bishops Stortford is closing its doors after more than 400 years in business.It opened as a tailor, draper and undertaker in 1601 called Slaters. It became Tissimans at some point before the late1800s.

Until now Tissimans has had claim to being the oldest men's clothing establishment in the world, the 26th oldest family business in the world and the third oldest family business in the UK.
