Thetford forest's future safe
Thetford Forest will not be sold off and will be protected for future generations as the government has announced a new public body will be created to look after the country's forests.
The independent body will own and maintain the forest and work with local groups to encourage people to get involved in managing the woodland.
The new group will also work with landowners to make sure it's sustainably managed. The announcement comes after the government originally suggested it wanted to sell the forests off.
