Southend railway bridge completed
Work to fit a new railway bridge in the centre of Southend has been completed. A huge crane was brought in to remove the 130 year old structure and move the new one into place over the weekend.
There were some diversions for pedestrians while the work was carried out but new tracks were put in yesterday and the work was completed by this morning's rush hour.
