Norfolk priest arrested over historic child abuse

A Catholic priest from Norfolk has been arrested in connection with alleged child abuse.

Father Tony McSweeney of St George's Catholic Church has been linked to the abuse which took place at the Elm Guest House in London in the early 80s.

Father David Bagstaff,Diocesan Administrator of the Diocese of East Anglia, said: “The safeguardingof children and vulnerable people is of paramount importance to the CatholicChurch and the Diocese is co-operating fully with the police in this investigation.”
