A three month project to restore an Elizabethan moat in Northamptonshire back to how it would have looked four hundred years ago has finally been completed.

The garden at Lyveden is one of the oldest in the country and is now owned by the National Trust.

The £50,000 project included removing silt that had fallen into the water over hundreds of years.

The garden at Lyveden extends over five hectares and also includes a garden lodge, known as Lyveden New Bield.
