London Mayor Boris Johnson has appointed "a mighty team of experts" to help develop hub airport plans.

Mr Johnson opposes a third runway at Heathrow and backs a "Boris Island" new airport in the Thames Estuary or if the costs of that are prohibitive, a possible expansion at Stansted.

His airport team will include Atkins - leading design, engineering and project management consultants.

Also in the team are architects Pascall & Watson, whose previous projects include Heathrow Terminal 5, Dublin Airport Terminal 2 and St Pancras International rail station in London.
