A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a man accused of murdering a heavily pregnant woman and deliberately killing her unborn baby.
Tony McLernon, 24, from North Grove, Harlow, Essex, denies murdering Eystna Blunnie last year.
He has also pleaded not guilty to a charge of child destruction for allegedly wilfully causing the death of 20-year-old Miss Blunnie's unborn baby.
Today (Tuesday) at Chelmsford Crown Court a jury of six men and six women was sworn in to hear the case.
McLernon was arrested following the incident on June 27. Miss Blunnie was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital suffering from severe head injuries after being found in a street near her home in Harlow but later died.
When she died, her profile picture on Facebook featured a recent ultrasound scan.
