Former F1 driver Martin Brundle was back on home turf as guest of honour at the opening of the new technology building at the College of West Anglia.
He studied Business Studies here in the seventies and joked he must have been a model pupil to get asked back.
The centre took around a year to build and cost £5.8 million. Brundle toured the workshops and even got stuck in himself by trying to wire a plug.
Around 1000 apprentices study at the college and it's hoped their state-of-the-art training will help local businesses to expand their workforces.
